Words of Advice?
HSAP is a very rigorous and challenging program. This is not an easy job. Although the program is hard, working with your mentors and colleagues will pay off in the future. You will benefit from the experience.
Best Things about the Program?
The best things about the HSAP program were the hands-on experiments, my mentors and the lab skills I gained.
How Participating in AEOP Inspired You to Advance in the STEM Field?
Participating in AEOP allowed me to find new solutions to real world problems and understand the importance of research in our society, which inspires me to continue to advance further in my pursuit of a STEM career.
Who is your favorite STEM role model?
My favorite STEM role model is Dorothy Lavinia Brown because she broke huge barriers for women of color and proved that the sky is the limit. She inspires me to push myself through adversity and discrimination whenever I want to do anything that others believe I can’t do.
What are your future hopes and dreams?
I hope to become a pediatrician or marine biologist. I am not quite sure which path I will take yet, butI would love to continue working in a research field.
