I recommend AEOP programs to anyone interested in advanced research and the enthralling world of STEM. Never be afraid to ask questions and provide your own commentary and reflection.
Best Things about the Program?
One of my best experiences in HSAP was delving into an advanced, dynamic research experience with the support of my mentor and research peer. I learned how to use LaTeX—a typesetting software that creates professionallooking documents—which I plan to use in college when I write research papers. I also enjoyed the collaborative meetings, where I learned about the first principles of thermodynamics. Participating in HSAP was a very rewarding experience, and I look forward to participating in other AEOP programs in the future.
How Participating in AEOP Inspired You to Advance in the STEM Field?
By learning how STEM can solve problems in innovative ways, I have become more interested in using academic subjects that I am passionate about to develop solutions to global issues. For example, prior to participating in AEOP, I had no experience applying thermodynamics to real-world issues. I enhanced my knowledge of the STEM opportunities that are available for me to pursue, and I developed my critical thinking and research skills, which will be beneficial throughout my undergraduate studies and my future career.
