Title: Diamond Surface characterization and Analysis
Location: Army Research Lab – Adelphi Laboratory Center – Adelphi, MD
Description: Interns will be responsible for analyzing surfaces and interfaces of diamond and related semiconductor, dielectric, and metallic materials using analysis techniques such as Raman Spectroscopy, X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), and X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy. Measurements may require materials and surfaces be cleaned and/or prepared for measurement using mechanical and chemical techniques. Interns may be required to perform some experimentation to determine optimal preparation methods. Analytical and physical chemistry, semiconductor materials, experimental methods, semiconductor processing, material handling, familiarity with microscopy and/or spectroscopy.

The eCYBERMISSION Mini-Grant is intended to support teachers/program leaders as they implement eCYBERMISSION with their teams. Educators (formal and informal) of students in grades 6-9 are encouraged to apply. Special consideration is given to Title 1 schools and to those with underserved/ under-represented populations.
