Title: Synthesis and Characterization of Novel Organic and Organometallic Chromophores for Non-Linear Optical (NLO) Applications

Location: Army Research Lab – Adelphi Laboratory Center – Adelphi, MD

Description: The successful student would aid in the synthesis, purification, and characterization of new organic and organometallic chromophores for the development of novel non-linear optical (NLO) materials. The student would gain experience in analyzing chemical characterization techniques such as nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy, mass spectrometry (MS), x-ray crystallography, electrochemistry, and optical characterization including, UV-visible absorption, photoluminescence, transient absorption, and Z-scan spectroscopies.
